Acceptable Photo IDs

Beginning in 2012, poll workers will ask you to show a current and valid ID when you vote at your polling place due to a law known as Voter ID. Acceptable photo IDs include:

  • Rhode Island driver’s license
  • United States passport
  • ID card issued by an educational institution in the United States
  • United States. military identification card
  • State of Rhode Island or federal government-issued ID card (such as a RIPTA bus pass)
  • Government-issued medical card
