The City of Central Falls’ community development initiatives help ensure Central Falls is vibrant, healthy, and safe by identifying needs and opportunities and prioritizing investments to create positive change throughout the city. This component of the Department of Planning and Economic Development aims to expand opportunities for residents and promotes a high quality of life. The Department of Planning and Economic Development is committed to building community capacity by fostering connections between residents, community leaders, business owners, and the municipality.
Community development activities may support infrastructure, economic development projects, installation of public facilities, community centers, housing rehabilitation, public services, clearance/acquisition, micro-enterprise assistance, homeowner assistance and many other identified needs. The City receives Federal support for community development through the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program; to learn more about these grants and how they are used in Central Falls, follow the link below to the CDBG page.
