Comprehensive Community Planning and Land Use Review
The City of Central Falls Planning and Economic Development Department works closely with other City departments, residents, business owners, neighborhood and community-based organizations, and non-profits to ensure that sound planning principles are the basis for planning and development throughout the city.
The Department is in the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan.

The Planning and Economic Development Department provides such services as:
- Providing planning and policy expertise to residents, property owners, developers, and City officials.
- Coordinating public review of development plans, zoning appeals, and planning related City Council ordinances.
- Facilitating the development of a broad community vision in the City’s Comprehensive Plan, Neighborhood Plans, Special Area Plans, and Redevelopment Plans.
- Providing staff support to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Review.
