Summer Food Service Program Provides Free Meals for Youth

CENTRAL FALLS, RI (July 12, 2021) – It is time to think about keeping children healthy while school is out. The City of Central Falls provides free meals to children during the summer. This summer, meals will be available for all children under the age of 18 through the Summer Food Service Program from 7/13 – 8/26. The Central Falls Summer Food Service Program provides free breakfast and lunch to Central Falls youth 18 and under Monday through Friday throughout the summer from July 13 to August 26. The mobile unit will also provide food from 3-6pm throughout the City’s local parks seven days a week. The program aims to promote the values and benefits of healthy living by offering nutritious meal options for kids in the community.

Meals will be served at the following sites, there are no income requirements or registration for the sites. Any child under the age of 18 may pick up meals.

  • Jenks Park: Breakfast will be serve at 9:30–10am. Lunches will be served 12:30–1:30pm.
  • Macomber Stadium: Breakfast will be served at 9:00am. Lunches will be served 12–1pm.
  • Veterans Memorial: Lunches will be served 1–2pm.

In addition, the City will serve free meals at programs held at the following site where children must register and be enrolled in the program to receive a free meal:

  • Segue Institute for Learning.
