City Council holds public hearing on April 6 for Redistricting Plan

CENTRAL FALLS, RI (April 4, 2022) – Following the city’s successful 2020 Census count efforts which resulted in recording a 16.6% increase in the Central Falls population, the Central Falls City Council is holding a public hearing on proposals regarding its Redistricting Plan to align with the city’s increased population count.

The public hearing will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 5:30pm at City Hall in the Council Chambers (580 Broad Street, Central Falls). Residents interested in providing public input on the three redistricting map proposals can do so at the public hearing, or by emailing the City Clerk at jrodriguez@centralfallsri.us. The public hearing can be viewed virtually at: http://www.clerkbase.com/RI_CentralFalls_Live_CityCouncil.html.

Wednesday’s public hearing is related to the Redistricting of City Wards for the City of Central Falls, pursuant to RIGL title 17. Elections § 17-11-1, and the adoption of a Redistricting Plan, pursuant to S2178 and H7209.
